If you’ve landed on this page then I guess you’re the curious type. I get it! I’ve clicked on a few About pages while surfing the web. It’s fun to learn about others who enjoy the same things we do. The thing is, I never really know exactly what to write on my own.
If you’re looking for a professional spiel, I have a degree in Fine Art. I spent the early years of my career working in advertising in Denver and New York. Then I began freelancing as a graphic artist and photographer while being a stay-at-home mom. As a member of the Society of Decorative Painters, I was blessed to study with artists from around the world. I am so grateful for every professional who has come before me and mentored me in some way along my artistic journey. Now, I get to do the mentoring!
For nearly 20 years I have been teaching art to children through private education and community art programs. I find incredible joy in teaching. I love to watch young people discover their God given creativity and sharing their “Ah-ha!” moments.
I started blogging in 2007 and have had a few articles published, but blogging is still my favorite outlet for writing. I enjoy simple living, gardening, painting and journaling about everyday life. Here at Live, Create, Inspire I ramble about artistic adventures in the classroom and studio. Sometimes I will post on decorating or home-life, which isn’t as crazy as it used to be now that we are empty-nesters!
Having passed the half-way mark in life, I’ve learned to be thankful for the little things and for every day. I am married to my best friend and he is not a bit jealous that the true love of my life is Jesus. We are fortunate to have all our children and grand-children live nearby and enjoy their random visits! In the summer I love spending time with family outdoors and playing in the dirt of my garden beds and in the winter I enjoy more time in the studio or sitting in front of the wood stove with a good book.
Life has been and will continue to be filled with the joyful moments and the difficult ones, but as I live out this second half, my goals are to Live Simply, Create Beauty and Inspire Others.
So there you have it. Just me – being me – sharing life with whoever lands here. Enjoy!
Praying your life is filled with beauty and blessings,
