I solved a problem in the studio today! Part of my routine between Christmas and New Year’s is cleaning and organizing. I was working on clearing the mile high pile off my table in the studio (it happens every Christmas). While putting away stamping supplies I was once again greeted by this…
My husband is a contractor and he re-purposed this storage unit from a remnant kitchen drawer. It is the perfect storage solution for my stamp pads and inks, but it has an issue. It is hanging on a wall next to a door.
Every time I open and close the door, the vibration nudges my stamp pads until one day I am startled by the masses falling onto the floor! I can’t even tell you how many times I have picked them up and put them back into color order. Well, today was my “ah-ha” day! Notice those lines on the lower left? Those are rubber bands.
This was the “ah-ha” moment! As I was putting things away in the storage room, I noticed my tool box and remembered that I had these tiny little nails and then I thought about the bag of rubber bands I had in the office supply cabinet and “Wha-La!” It was quick, simple and still provides easy access.
Problem solved! Now I don’t have to find another storage solution for all these toys and I can open and close my storage room door minus the scare and the mess. Amazing how a handful of nails and rubber bands can make a girl so happy. Happy New Year to you and yours!
